Peak Prom vehicle limits and a full Squeaky Beach car park are a Plan B moment — not a reason to invent parking, wait in a third car, or stack Oberon anyway.

Decision first: if Parks Victoria is limiting vehicles, or Squeaky Beach parking is full, do not add Mount Oberon, Three Bays and a late Melbourne return “to make the wait worth it.” Execute Plan B: Norman Beach, a weekday retry, or a gateway bed tonight. A calm one-beach day still counts.
Day entry is free. That does not create infinite parking. Parks Victoria publishes park-wide vehicle limits on busy summer days, a maximum of two vehicles per camping site, and “arrive before 10 am” as practical peak advice. This page is a decision tree — not live traffic. Not walked; planning from official pages.
If you are still in the vehicle queue

Bring water and patience — Parks Victoria has said you may have to wait in the car. Carpool. Prefer weekdays. If the clock already killed a safe Oberon finish, shrink to Norman only. Do not invent a third car “just visiting for the afternoon” against a two-vehicle campsite rule.
Failure mode: treating the queue as proof you now “deserve” every icon. The queue is evidence you should do less.
If Squeaky Beach parking is full

Leave. Norman Beach is Plan B — facilities, sand, sunset, no extra corridor fight. Do not park on vegetation or block emergency access. Extra cars from a booking cannot overflow into day-visitor areas.
Official vs the sign: on-site rangers and Parks Victoria vehicle-limit notices win. This blog cannot create a space.
If Telegraph Saddle / shuttle is the problem

Missed shuttle windows and a full saddle lot are reverse signals, not a reason to start Oberon at peak heat. Screenshot shuttle notes while you have signal. If the climb is off, Norman or Lilly Pilly still make a Prom day.
Pairing ban: do not add Tongue Point because Oberon failed. That is a new product, not Plan B.
What not to invent
Do not invent a walk-up Tidal River site. Do not invent drones, dogs or fires as exceptions. Do not invent a Melbourne 11 am leave that still “beats the cap.” Read the official summer notes the morning you drive.

Does my camping booking guarantee Squeaky parking?
No. Two vehicles per site is the camping rule. Beach and trailhead lots are a separate fight. Arrive early or use Norman.
Is Foster a good Plan B for parking?
Foster is a gateway bed and dining town, not a shortcut into a full park. Sleep there and retry early — do not drive in at noon hoping the cap reset.
